Mora 162 Double-Edged Hook Knife
The Mora 162 Hook Knife is made with a 2 mm thick, 55 mm long blade of recycled Swedish 12C27 stainless steel. Its tight curve is designed for carving scoops, spoon bowls and other deeper hollow forms.
The blade is sharpened on both edges, allowing it to be used for both push and pull cuts. Being double-edged, the same knife can be used by both right and left-handed carvers.
The blade has been designed to run smoothly over the inside of a spoon or bowl without digging in or catching. Its tighter curve makes the 162 particularly useful when you need to carve more deeply than you can with the wider, shallower Mora 163.
The handle is made from linseed-oiled Scandinavian birch and has Mora’s signature barrel shape. It can also be easily reshaped to better suit your hand.
The knife’s full rat-tail tang runs throughout the handle, providing strength and stability in every cut.
Sheath: Optional Swedish vegetable-tanned leather
Choose the knife on its own or with a Swedish vegetable-tanned leather sheath. The sheath protects the knife’s sharp double edges and your hands when the knife is stored or transported.

We recommend only sharpening hook knives on the inside edge as you have a flat registration point to work with. The outside of the blade has a convex surface from the tip to heel as well as from the edge to the spine which means that there is a complexity to could lead to headaches if you get it wrong.
Regular stropping however on the inside edge using a dowel with stropping compound and a stropping paddle for the outside edge is a great way to maintain a keen edge for longer before you will even need to think about resharpening your hook knives.

Shipping Times
Orders are shipped 2-4 business days after placement and are sent via Australia Post. You will be supplied with a tracking number once shipped so you can keep track of where your parcel is at.
Please allow 5 business days for delivery and 10 business days for Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.
Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday or Tuesday.
Australian Shipping Rates
A $15.95 AUD flat rate shipping fee applies on all orders.
If you require your parcel more urgently then you may select Australia Post Express Post shipping for $21.95 AUD which should arrive 1-2 business days after dispatch (location dependant).

RETURNS POLICY
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable)Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
