Opinel Néo6 Opiflex Pocket Knife

A fresh take on a classic.

The Néo6 is Opinel stepping into the modern world without losing what made these knives iconic in the first place. Same simple lines, same timber handles, but with a new way of holding the blade that just makes sense for everyday use.

This is a knife for the pocket, not the pack. Peeling fruit, opening parcels, making lunch on the go — the sort of jobs that happen every day, and deserve a tool that’s always there.

The 7 cm blade has a rounded tip, which makes it more forgiving in use and far less likely to catch or dig in where you don’t want it to. It also makes the Néo6 a great option for younger users learning knife skills under supervision. You still get a proper cutting edge, just with a bit more margin for error.

Where things get interesting is the Opiflex system. Instead of a locking ring, the blade is held in place by a spring-loaded mechanism. It stays open when you need it, closes when you want it to, and avoids the fuss of a lock altogether.

It’s simple, intuitive, and very much in line with how most people actually use a pocket knife.

Each handle is finished in varnished timber and fitted with a leather lanyard. It’s a small detail, but a good one — hang it up, tie it off, or just enjoy the feel of it in hand.

Made in France, as they’ve always been.

Variants

Black Walnut
Classic Opinel. Warm, understated, and hard to fault.

Olive Wood
A bit more character. Each one slightly different, with that unmistakable grain.

Black Oak / Ebony (depending on your stock)
Darker, more modern feel. A good option if you want something a little less traditional.
