PRODUCT INFO

The Wood Tamer Walnut Range Carving Drawknife is a compact, versatile tool designed for controlled wood removal and precise shaping. Inspired by the traditional carver's drawknife, it features a hand-forged 52100 carbon steel blade with a 105mm cutting edge, flat grind and 25° bevel. The angled, octagonal walnut handles provide a comfortable, relaxed grip, giving you excellent control without unnecessary strain on your hands. Finished with brushed brass ferrules and supplied with a vegetable-tanned leather blade cover, it's a thoughtfully designed carving tool that delivers quality and performance without the premium price tag.

As a hand-forged tool with natural timber handles, minor variations in finish, grain and colour are to be expected. These are part of the individual character of each drawknife. 52100 carbon steel is not stainless and should be kept clean and dry. A light application of oil after use will help prevent corrosion.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
  • Hand-forged 52100 steel: Excellent toughness, edge retention and ease of sharpening, hardened to 58–59 HRC.
  • 105mm cutting edge: Ideal for controlled stock removal, shaping curves and refining carved surfaces.
  • Ergonomic octagonal handles: Faceted walnut handles encourage a light, secure grip and help reduce hand fatigue during extended carving sessions.
  • Angled handle design: Provides a comfortable working position and improved control when shaping timber.
  • Flat-ground blade: A 25° bevel provides a versatile cutting edge for both general shaping and more controlled carving.
  • Quality materials: Natural walnut handles and brushed brass ferrules combine functionality with a traditional aesthetic.
  • Leather blade protection: Supplied with a simple vegetable-tanned leather cover to protect the cutting edge when not in use.
WHO IT'S DESIGNED FOR

Ideal for spoon carvers, green woodworkers, chairmakers and anyone who enjoys shaping timber by hand. Its compact cutting edge makes it particularly useful for carving spoons, refining handles, shaping gentle curves and working on smaller projects where a full-sized drawknife would be cumbersome.

Whether you're relatively new to carving or have years of experience, the Walnut Range Drawknife offers a comfortable and capable addition to your toolkit.
