Z-saw Dozuki Piercing 150 – Japanese Pull Saw

This one does something most saws simply can’t.

The Zetsaw Dozuki Piercing 150 is built for starting cuts in the middle of a board — no pilot hole, no drilling, no mucking around. The specialised “piercing” tooth at the tip lets you drop straight into the timber and get moving, clean and controlled.

From there, it behaves like a proper dozuki — thin blade, rigid spine, and a clean pull cut that tracks exactly where you want it.

Where it shines

  • Cutting slots or openings within a board
  • Joinery that starts away from an edge
  • Electrical and cabinet work
  • Detail work and small, controlled cuts

If you’ve ever wished you could just start a cut right here without drilling first — this is the tool.

What makes it different

  • Piercing tooth at the tip for plunge cuts without a starter hole
  • Ultra-thin blade (0.3mm) for low effort and fine kerf
  • Rigid spine for accuracy and control
  • Impulse hardened teeth for long edge life
  • Replaceable blade — keep the handle, swap when needed

It’s still a light-touch tool. Let the saw do the work and it’ll reward you with clean, precise results.

Most dozuki are about cutting clean lines.

This one adds another trick — cutting where there is no line to start from.

Once you’ve used it, you’ll find yourself reaching for it more often than you’d expect. And for certain jobs, there’s really no substitute.
