Product details

The hard wearing 52100 steel means that it will hold its edge up to 5 times longer than other similarly priced slöyd knives. This means more time carving and less time sharpening.

This beautiful 85mm slöyd knife sits so comfortably in your hand and features a specially shaped handle that makes for an easy grip. It is the same blade as the FC207 with a different handle shape.

Being a fine tip it should not be used to try and crank out large amounts of material as you risk snapping it.  Gently, gently is the best approach with this knife (and most knives) as you can remove material but it is very hard to put it back on.

The steel has been made from hard wearing 52100 High Carbon Steel that has been Cryogenically heat treated to give optimal edge retention meaning you can spend more time carving and less time sharpening.  It comes super sharp straight out of the box.

50hr review using this knife.

To be honest I nearly sent this knife back. the bevels are not symmetrical. One side is longer, (or wider, depends how you view it.) When it arrived it was very sharp but a roughish grind made for a flimsy edge. Given the price I didn't expect really high end finish but the uneven grind is sort of off putting. That's the bad stuff.
The shape of the handle is seriously good for my hands. Then there's the steel. I'm glad I persevered with this knife. Once I got the bevels honed smooth it took an absolutely wicked edge, and it seems really durable. No matter how dull I think it has become 5 - 10 mins of stropping up through 3 grades of compound and its like new. It just seems so easy to get a really good edge. It would be an excellent option for new carvers. I wasn't joking about the wicked edge. I'm on my 2nd box of baindaids.
