Spotted Gum Haft
The Spotted Gum hand shaped handle sits perfectly into your hand both when it is being held at the base of the handle for full power and when it is being choked for detailed finer work. Because of the colouration and nature of the Spotted Gum timber its appearance improves with use as it develops a lovely patina whereas other blonde timber handles start looking grubby as soon as you start using them. The strength of Spotted Gum is amazing and will last a very long time.
Faceted Handle
Whether holding the handle at the base swell for full powered swings or choking up on the head for controlled cuts, the handle sits comfortably in your hand without having to hold on tightly. This reduces fatigue. The swell at the back of the handle fits well into the Vee between your thumb and pointer finger further reducing fatigue.
Superbly Balanced
The balance point of the axe is perfectly located up at the choke point, making for for great control cuts and also when holding the axe at the base of the handle you get maximum swing power.
The hand forged head is beautifully crafted and holds its edge so well. It comes razor sharp straight out of the box.
HANDFORGED AXE HEAD
Each axe head is hand forged by The Farmer's Forge from 5160 steel which means awesome edge retention. A 30 degree hollow grind bevel makes for excellent carving. This hardwearing axe is designed to last for generations.

Mick's attention to detail means that this carving axe arrives super sharp and ready to use. The high quality stitched leather sheath which unlike many others on the market fits easily and intuitively without risk of cutting yourself or the sheath.
