To our knowledge these are the first range of kids carving knives made in Australia. They are made from the same template as the Woodlands CC Sloyd Knives however the tip has been rounded to reduce the risk of a stab wound.

As they are the younger siblings of the slöyd knife range they have the same characteristics. They are made with 15n20 Swedish steel using recycled blackbutt timber handles. The steel is hardened to 60-61 HRC. The bevel is ground at 25 degrees inclusive. They have great edge retention and come super sharp ready to carve.

They are made from High Carbon Steel and therefore rust easily. In our opinion this is where the responsibility of owning a knife starts with a young person, maintaining their knife so that it is ready when they need it. Oiling, stropping, maintaining their knife along with respecting a sharp tool are great life lessons.

Please always supervise your children when using sharp tools.

PLEASE NOTE: The Wood Tamer is currently at the Marmalade Festival of Carving. You may still place orders but shipping will not recommence until May 1st.

Orders are shipped 2-4 business days after placement and are sent via Australia Post. You will be supplied with a tracking number once shipped so you can keep track of where your parcel is at.

Please allow 5 business days for delivery and 10 business days for Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.

Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday or Tuesday.

If you require your parcel more urgently then you may select Australia Post Express Post shipping for $19.95 AUD which should arrive 1-2 business days after dispatch (location dependant).
